Suggestions for transportation, restaurants, attractions, and conference hotels.

If you won’t be joining us by staying at the recommended conference hotel, be sure to check the proximity of your hotel to the conference location, as students often tell us that being close made their experience that much better.

CONFERENCE LOCATION

The conference is being hosted at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista, 13351 State Road 535, Orlando, FL 32821.

Weather

In November in Florida, the average daytime highs are 70-80 degrees and the average evening temperatures range from as low as 60-70 degrees. Meeting rooms may be cool due to air conditioning. Orlando weather is quite moderate in November.

Airport

If it would take you more than eight hours to drive to this conference, ASGA recommends that you consider flying.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is about 14 miles from the Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista, the official conference hotel and venue.

Ground Transportation

Orlando does not offer convenient public transportation options. You will need transportation to and from airport, conference location, restaurants, and attractions.

While you can take a taxi ($52-$68), shuttle van ($22-$37 per person), or Uber ($76-$97) from the Orlando International Airport to the conference hotel, ASGA recommends that you get a rental car for additional sightseeing, shopping, and restaurant options in Orlando.

The conference hotel offers a free shuttle that stops at all four Disney parks, as well as SeaWorld and Universal Studios (Contact the hotel for the shuttle schedule).

Uber and Lyft

Both taxi-alternatives are convenient and easy to use. You’ll probably save money by using Uber or Lyft over a taxi.

Rental Car

ASGA has negotiated a discount with Dollar Rent a Car. In order to take advantage of the discounts and benefits, please utilize ASGA Corporate Discount Number: CM0138

Make reservations. Enter the ASGA Corporate Discount number, or call 866-542-2303 ext.2 and use CD#CM0138.

Parking

Parking is included in the “resort fee” that is part of the room rate of $139 per night. Attendees not staying at the conference hotel may park for free by Applebee’s.
